Many cryptocurrencies are built on a peer-to-peer platform that works according to blockchain technology. NEM is another example of this. It is a cryptocurrency with several subunits called microXEM and milliXEM. XEM is the plural used for multiple NEM and is also used as the currency symbol for the cryptocurrency.
It was introduced in 2015 and is used globally. It was originally written in Java, although a C++ version is apparently being developed. The block time for the cryptocurrency is one minute.
